FOOD PROCESSORS IS A STRENGTH BASED GROUP - for children & youth between 5-17 yrs old
Group therapy offers participants a unique opportunity to be with other peers who have had similar experiences. Clients benefit by gaining a sense of belonging, learning from peers, and having the opportunity to practice the learned skills in a safe and supportive environment. Group members receive support from their peers, and provide encouragement to others. Client’s feelings and experiences are normalized as they interact with fellow participants.
Why bake?
The kitchen is a natural learning environment. Participants will learn how combining “healthy life ingredients” produce positive outcomes. Strategically planned recipes will be used to identify and enhance existing skills while also developing additional and supplementary skills. . Children will be able to enjoy & share their baking with family & friends.
What will group be like?
The themes and activities are meant to provide opportunities to develop self-actualization. Activities within the group setting include discussions, interaction with peers, cooking, baking, and creativity.
Who attends the group?
Your child will attend each session. You (Identified supports) will take part in the last group. This is meant to strengthen the bond between the youth and their support, create memories, and embolden the strength of the relationship with one another.
How much does it cost?
The fee is $480.00 ($60/session) this will include all materials and the “goodies/treats” the participants make each week. The fee is due prior to the first group session.
